First Impressions Really Count!

Check landscaping for edging and trimming.  Plant some flowering shrubs for color.
Paint that front door; fresh, shiny paint will set the stage.
Bright & cheery sells...  Turn on lights, open drapes, pull up shades, and open blinds.
Do those lights show up some fingerprints?  Clean or paint!
Shampoo and deodorize carpets now; you can enjoy them and it will help make the sale. If you have a number of different carpet colors, consider replacing with "Builder’s Beige".
Before is the time for that garage sale. Empty closets and start packing up those odds and ends. Think "Model Home".
Aromas are important.  Set out potpourri, fresh flowers, etc.   If you’re leaving a vacant house, try some commercial fragranced deodorizers.   Empty homes start to smell empty.
Straighten closets.  Folks will want to see inside.  If lighted, turn on.
Pets have no place in the sale of a home.  They distract, at best; frighten, at worst.
Turn off radio’s and TV’s.
Set out copies of last year’s utility bills.
Plumbing is covered in most contracts.  Fix leaks, drips, and wobbles, etc., before your buyer finds them.
Open shower curtains.  Folks want to see that tub and caulking.
Silence is golden.  Let your Realtor sell the prospect on your home. They may really dislike the thing you like the most.
If buyers show up at your door without an agent, give them your realtor's card.
